Police in Sturgis received a frantic 911 call from a 15-year-old girl at 8 a.m. on October 7th.
The young girl was very shaken up and had a harrowing tale to share with officers.
The teen told officers she had been held captive in a home by 32-year-old Michael Wilson, pictured below. She told police Wilson forced her to take illegal substances and forced himself on her. The young female victim was eventually able to bravely escape the home and immediately found a way to call 911.
Authorities say it is unclear how long Wilson held the teen-victim hostage. They say Wilson and the victim knew each other prior to the incident but did not disclose the extent of their relationship.
Officers quickly descended on Wilson's home. Upon arrival, they found Wilson attempting to leave the home in a vehicle with three other people.
When Wilson saw officers closing in, he decided to run. Officers pursued and a high-speed chase began. While being chased by the police, Wilson threw controlled substances from the car.
Officers were eventually able to bring the chase to an end, and Wilson, along with all three passengers, were taken into custody.
The passengers were charged with offenses related to the police chase and were not connected to the 15-year-old girl.
Michael Wilson is being charged with kidnapping and S/A of a minor. He has yet to have a court date set for those charges.
