 The credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters’ register has come under intense scrutiny ahead of the 2027 general elections, following revelations by INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan that names of deceased persons remain on the register. Amupitan disclosed that names of voters who died as far back as 15 years ago are still listed, a situation critics say could undermine the integrity of the 2027 polls and lead to significant financial waste through the printing of excess ballot papers and other election logistics. The INEC chairman made the revelation while receiving the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and her management team during a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday.  Actor Alapini meets Seyi Tinubu after allegations of not being compensated in 2023


Nollywood actor, Ganiyu Nafiu, professionally known as Alapini Oosa, has met with President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.

This came a few months after the veteran actor expressed regret campaigning for president Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress, APC, during the 2023 general election.

He had lamented not being recognised or compensated for his efforts after two years of Tinubu in office.

Five months after calling out the president, Alapini finally had a close door meeting with Seyi Tinubu alongside actress Fathia Balogun Williams.

Photos from the meeting have continued to spark controversy on social media.

DAILY POST reports that neither party has disclosed details or the purpose of their discussion as of the time of this report.
