American Mayor Questions Nigeria’s Request for Foreign Aid, despite being a nation rich in mineral resources.

Mike Arnold, the Republican Mayor of Blanco City, Texas, has expressed concern over Nigeria’s reliance on foreign financial assistance despite being a nation rich in mineral resources.

“I don’t understand why a nation like Nigeria, so rich in natural resources and growing, has to go and ask for money to take care of its people,” Arnold stated.

He further condemned the treatment of displaced persons in the country, describing it as “horrific” that many are denied stability and have their homes demolished without warning.

Arnold also criticized what he called a contradiction in Nigeria’s approach to international relations. “It doesn’t make sense that Nigerian leaders don’t want Americans to speak on terrorism and insecurity in their country, yet they want America’s money,” he said.
