 LSPHCB, SCI COLLABORATE TO STRENGTHEN CHILD IMMUNISATION The Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB) hosted a high-level delegation from Save the Children International (SCI), led by Country Director, Mr. Duncan Harvey, during an official courtesy visit to the board on Thursday, 17th September 2026. The visit comes as part of Save the Children’s global leadership tour in Nigeria to evaluate the impact of the BOOST Project (Better Opportunities for Optimal Services and Targeted Immunisation for Zero-Dose and Under-Immunised Children) and to align on strategic priorities for child health across the state. AN INDIANA MOTHER WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AFTER HER CHILD WAS FOUND WANDERING THE STREETS IN A VERY FULL DIAPER WITH A CIGARETTE BURN ON THE CHILD'S FOREHEAD.(PHOTO).

 An Indiana mother was taken into custody after her child was found wandering the streets in a very full diaper with a cigarette burn on the child's forehead.


Officers in Evansville, Indiana, received a call at 9:50 p.m. on October 14th. The caller described seeing a young child walking alone in the middle of the road.


Officers arrived on the scene to discover the young child dressed only in pants. According to reports, the child's diaper was so full that urine had soaked through the pants and was dripping onto the child's feet. There also appeared to be a cigarette burn in the middle of the child's forehead. 


Officers were eventually able to determine the child's mother is 25-year-old Diasha Dixon. After locating Dixon, she became resistant to questioning and refused to speak to officers. When police questioned Dixon on the whereabouts of her 3 other children, she refused to cooperate.  


Dixon's children were ultimately located by authorities, and all 4 children are in DFS custody.  Dixon reportedly told DFS workers the mark on her child's forehead was an insect bite and not a cigarette burn.


Evansville PD arrested Diasha Dixon on charges of neglect of a dependant and obstruction of justice. 


Diasha Dixon was booked into Vanderburgh County Jail.
