 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  ANAMBRA SECURITY: POLICE CONFIRMS FOILED ARMED ATTACK ON EZINIFITE COMMUNITY, ONE SUSPECT NEUTRALIZED AND FIREARM RECOVERED


The Anambra State Police Command confirms an attempted armed attack on Ezinifite Community, Nnewi South Local Government Area in the early hours of today, 27th October 2025. Fortunately, the attack was successfully repelled following a swift response and resistance from combined security team of the Police and Agunechamba Vigilante Operatives in the area. 


The Joint Security Team engaged the assailants in a gunfire exchange, leading to the neutralization of one (1) of the attackers, while the others escaped into a surrounding bush with suspected bullet injuries. The operatives also recovered one pump-action gun from

the scene as well as the body of the neutralized suspect.


Meanwhile, offensive and intelligence follow-up operations are currently ongoing in collaboration with Police tactical teams to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects.


The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc minps PhD, commended the vigilance and bravery of the local security architecture and assured residents that the Command remains fully committed to securing all communities, especially as the November 8, 2025  Governorship Election approaches.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
