Atiku Receives Delegation Of Kaduna PDP Chairmanship Candidates, Welcomes Them To Opposition Coalition

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Friday received a delegation of the Kaduna State Forum of PDP Local Government Chairmanship Candidates for 2025, led by Barrister Ibrahim Usman, who was among those allegedly denied participation in the recently held local council polls in the state.

Speaking after the meeting, Atiku expressed concern but not surprise at the candidates’ experiences, describing them as reflective of the anti-democratic tendencies that have become the hallmark of the Tinubu-led APC government.

He commended the group’s decision to align with the opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying their move was driven by a shared vision to restore democracy and good governance in Nigeria.

“What is important is that they have seen a legitimate reason to join the mission of the opposition coalition under the ADC. Not only political stakeholders, but great numbers of citizens are increasingly agreeing that this country has never been this bad. I am indeed glad they have indicated willingness to join us in our mission to rescue this country," Atiku said.

The former vice president urged more Nigerians to join the movement, emphasizing that collective effort is key to rebuilding the nation.

“I encourage more citizens to come on board, and together, this rescue mission will be accomplished,” he added.
