 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school.  Ayamelum Residents Lament Years of Neglect Over Dilapidated Road


Residents of Ayamelum Local Government Area have cried out over the deplorable condition of the only major road linking their communities to Anambra East, describing it as a clear sign of government neglect.


According to them, the road has remained one of the worst in Anambra East, yet it serves as the only lifeline to Ayamelum. The people say the situation has made transportation of goods, especially farm produce, extremely difficult, causing economic hardship and isolating many villages during the rainy season.


“We are tired of empty promises,” one resident lamented. “This road tells our story — a story of neglect and suffering. Each year, we hear about development funds, but Ayamelum is always forgotten.”


They also questioned the state government over the recently publicized Common Service Fund, wondering why their area continues to be excluded.


The people of Ayamelum are calling on the Anambra State Government to urgently rehabilitate the road, noting that Ayamelum deserves the same attention and development given to other parts of the state.
