 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  BENUE: ONE BEHEADED AS RIVAL CULT GROUPS CLASH IN NORTHBANK, MAKURDI


7th October, 2025   


A deadly cult clash in the Northbank area of Makurdi, Benue State, has resulted in the gruesome beheading of a young man in the early hours of Tuesday.


Eyewitnesses said the confrontation between rival cult groups threw the area into chaos, forcing residents to flee for safety. The cause of the renewed violence is yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report.


Security operatives have been deployed to the area to restore order and prevent further escalation. Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and promptly report any suspicious movements.
