 The credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters’ register has come under intense scrutiny ahead of the 2027 general elections, following revelations by INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan that names of deceased persons remain on the register. Amupitan disclosed that names of voters who died as far back as 15 years ago are still listed, a situation critics say could undermine the integrity of the 2027 polls and lead to significant financial waste through the printing of excess ballot papers and other election logistics. The INEC chairman made the revelation while receiving the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and her management team during a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday.  Chelsea stun Liverpool with late winner

 

Chelsea secured a dramatic 2–1 victory over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, with substitute Estevão Willian scoring a stunning stoppage-time winner to hand the Blues all three points in a tense Premier League clash.

The hosts took the lead in the 14th minute when Moises Caicedo finished off a neat move orchestrated by Malo Gusto, slotting past Giorgi Mamardashvili to make it 1–0.

Liverpool, however, fought their way back into the game after the break. Cody Gakpo equalised in the 63rd minute, converting from close range after a fine assist from Alexander Isak, silencing the home crowd.

Just when it seemed both sides would share the points, Stamford Bridge erupted deep into added time. Marc Cucurella surged forward on the left and delivered a low cross that found Estevão Willian, who calmly tucked the ball in the 96th minute to seal a memorable victory.
