 OCHA Brigade Arrests 13 people Over Illegal Kaolin Excavation In Ozubulu, Ukpor Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA) Brigade has arrested 13 suspects in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, and Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area, over illegal kaolin excavation and activities linked to severe environmental degradation in Anambra State. The arrests followed a targeted enforcement operation at identified excavation sites where indiscriminate removal of soil had been taking place, and the affected locations were immediately sealed to halt further damage and prevent the expansion of erosion-prone areas. Illegal excavation has been identified as a major driver of erosion in Anambra State, weakening soil structure, destroying farmlands, and exposing communities to flooding and gully erosion.  CHINESE GOVT. COMMENDS NIGERIA FOR RESCUE OF FOUR KIDNAP CITIZENS 


The People’s Republic of China has commended the Nigerian government for the successful rescue of four of its citizens kidnapped in Kwara State.


The rescue operation, jointly carried out by the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, and the Police, led to the safe recovery of the Chinese nationals 


At the formal handover of the victims in Abuja, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, represented by the Consul, Wang Jun, lauded the Nigerian security agencies, particularly the DSS, for their swift, intelligence-led response. He also commended the Service for providing first-rate medical attention to the rescued individuals at its medical facility in Abuja.


The kidnapped miners were reportedly ambushed by a gang of armed bandits on their way to a mining site in Saminaka village, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.


Meanwhile, the DSS continues its nationwide operations against criminal syndicates, recently recording significant breakthroughs, including the interception of arms and ammunition in Delta State, a development widely praised as a testament to its commitment to national security and public safety.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
