 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  COURT ADJOURNS KANU'S TRIAL TO OCTOBER 16TH AS NMA PANEL CONTINUES MEDICAL REVIEW OF HIS HEALTH


The federal high court Abuja division has adjourned further trial of the leader of the proscribed indigenous people of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu on alleged terrorism charge to October 16, 2025.


Justice James Omotosho gave the order following the inability of the Nigerian Medical Association to  conclude its assessment of Kanu's health status and present its report before the court.


Justice Omotosho had at the last adjourned date, ordered the NMA president to constitute a board of medical experts to carry out investigations on the alleged deteriorating health of the defendant. 


The report is also to determine whether Kanu is fit and proper to stand for continuation of his trial.

At the next adjourned date, after the submission of his medical report, Nnamdi Kanu as a defendant in the matter is expected to open his defence following the court’s dismissal of the defendant’s no case submission.
