 Somali World Cup Referee Denied Entry to United States Award-winning Somali referee, Omar Artan, has been denied entry into the United States despite holding a valid visa, according to a senior official in Somalia’s sports ministry. Artan, who is set to become the first Somali referee to officiate at the FIFA World Cup finals, was stopped at Miami International Airport and subsequently returned to Istanbul, where he had been residing. The reason for the denial was not immediately disclosed. However, Somalia is among the countries affected by a travel ban introduced by the administration of Donald Trump.  DSS Alerts Public Over Activities Of Dismissed Officer, Victor Godwin


The Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a public warning concerning the activities of Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, a former officer dismissed from the Service.


In a statement released on Monday, the DSS disclosed that Godwin has been impersonating the Service and defrauding unsuspecting members of the public by falsely claiming to represent the agency.


“The public is hereby advised to avoid any dealings with Mr. Godwin, as he no longer has any connection with the Service,” the statement read.


The DSS urged individuals with complaints, enquiries, or relevant information to reach out directly through 09088373515 or via email at dsspr@dss.gov.ng.


The Service reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding national security and ensuring that impostors are held accountable for their actions.
