 LASG PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO NEW ONIȘẸ OF ISE KINGDOM The Lagos State Government has presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Prince Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, as His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, the Onise of Ise Kingdom in Lekki Local Government Area. The presentation was performed on Friday, August 21, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, with the approval of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Executive Council, following the demise of the late Oba Ganiu Adebowale Adegbesan, Onise of Ise Kingdom.  Father charged with vehicular manslaughter after toddler drowns in floodwaters

A California father has been charged with vehicular manslaughter after his 2-year-old son died in floodwaters last month.

The incident occurred on Sept. 18, when authorities responded to reports of a car swept away by floodwaters. The driver, 26-year-old Brandon Padilla-Aguilera, and his son, Xavier, managed to escape the vehicle but became separated. Xavier was found dead the following day after a search by emergency responders and volunteers.

Court documents filed Tuesday charge Padilla-Aguilera with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and child abuse under circumstances likely to cause serious injury or death. The complaint alleges he caused his son’s death while driving.

Padilla-Aguilera was arrested at his Barstow home on Friday. Prosecutors confirmed they are pursuing vehicular manslaughter and child abuse charges. His defense attorney denied guilt during his first court appearance, and he is scheduled to return to court next week.
