 LAGOS UNVEILS NATIONAL INTERMEDIATE GAMES’ MASCOT IN READINESS FOR HOSTING COMPETITION  In demonstration of Lagos State’s readiness to host the maiden edition of the National Intermediate Games coming up later in the year, the Lagos State Sports Commission unveiled the Games’ mascot and logo in Ikeja at a brief ceremony. The unveiling, which marked the commencement of activities for the Games, was attended by top state government dignitaries, sports administrators, and enthusiasts from across the length and breadth of the country. Honourable Lekan Fatodu, Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, in his address, said the state had demonstrated its preparedness through the constitution of various committees with the right people and the unveiling of the Games’ identity.  He noted that these actions not only proved the state’s readiness to host the competition successfully, but also to do so in a manner never befo...

 FG Resolves PENGASSAN & Dangote Dispute


After a reconciliation meeting, the Federal Government has brokered peace in the industrial dispute between Dangote Refinery and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN)


A statement by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi, in the early hours of Wednesday states that, after a lengthy discussion, the matter was resolved as follows: that Unionization is the rights of the Nigerian workers and that the Management of Dangote Group shall immediately start the process of taking the disengaged staff to other companies within the Dangote Group, with no loss of pay.


No worker will be victimized arising from their role in the impasse between Dangote and PENGASSAN.


All Parties agreed to the demands.


The government team at the meeting included the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Labour and Employment, Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubaksr Atiku Bagudu; Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha; DG DSS, Adeola Ajayi; DG NIA, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed.


Meanwhile PENGASSAN has scheduled a press briefing on the outcome of the engagement by 11 am
