 LASG PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO NEW ONIȘẸ OF ISE KINGDOM The Lagos State Government has presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Prince Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, as His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, the Onise of Ise Kingdom in Lekki Local Government Area. The presentation was performed on Friday, August 21, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, with the approval of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Executive Council, following the demise of the late Oba Ganiu Adebowale Adegbesan, Onise of Ise Kingdom.  Five Fake Cops Arrested After Attempted N12 Highway Hijacking

Five suspects aged between 28 and 34 were arrested in Daveyton after they were found with SAPS uniforms and police equipment in their vehicle.


The arrests came after a 36-year-old man narrowly escaped an attempted hijacking along the N12 highway on Tuesday. The victim was reportedly stopped by a white VW Golf after offering a lift to a female pedestrian. One of the suspects, wearing a police reflective jacket, exited the vehicle — prompting the victim to speed off, suspecting a setup.


The suspects chased after him and tried to block his vehicle again, but EMPD officers noticed their erratic driving and intervened. Upon searching the VW Golf, officers discovered SAPS uniforms, CPF jackets, cellphones, a screwdriver, a taser, two fighting belts, and a firearm license belonging to someone else.


None of the suspects could provide proof of being police officers. They were immediately arrested and charged with impersonating police officers, attempted hijacking, and possession of SAPS property.


The five suspects are currently detained at Daveyton Police Station and are expected to appear in court soon.
