 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Hamas: ‘He looks sad, exhausted’ – Sheikh Gumi mocks Israeli PM Netanyahu


Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, on Friday, mocked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing him as looking “sad and exhausted”.

Gumi made the remark in a post on his Facebook page, where he wrote: “Netanyahu looks sad and exhausted! I hope Facebook is not offended.”

His comment followed reports that the Israeli government had approved the first phase of the US-brokered ceasefire plan proposed by President Donald Trump.

Under the plan, captives are expected to be exchanged, while Israel will withdraw from parts of Gaza.

Prime Minister Netanyahu had earlier thanked Trump and US officials for their role in facilitating the ceasefire negotiations aimed at ending the war in Gaza.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
