 Meta to end end-to-end encryption for Instagram direct messages Meta is ending end-to-end encryption for Instagram direct messages, a feature the company says will no longer be available after May 8, 2026. Unlike WhatsApp, Instagram never offered encryption to all users or as a default; only select users in certain regions could opt in on a per-chat basis. A Meta spokesperson explained that the decision comes due to low adoption. “Very few people were opting in to end-to-end encrypted messaging in DMs, so we’re removing this option from Instagram in the coming months,” the spokesperson said. “Anyone who wants to keep messaging with end-to-end encryption can easily do that on WhatsApp.” Meta’s messaging strategy has shifted multiple times over the years. WhatsApp chats have been encrypted since 2016, and the company began rolling out default encryption for Messenger in 2023. Speaking on Gbam interview Engr Felix noted that tradition has come to stay and People should be able to differentiate between tradition and evil. He asserted that tradition is good because that's  the ways our forefathers followed and lived Long.

  

Engr Igwebuike maintained that the main problem people are having in Igbo land now is neglecting so much tradition, even as you are going to church do not disregard your tradition.


Speaking further, Engr Felix said that any site he is working on, he must kill a goat, and the reason is because it's in the tradition to do so, by so doing your "ancestors will guide whatever you are doing in that site and even provide more so that the work will be moving."


Engr Felix also defended the governor of Anambra state saying that he knows what he is doing, that the governor's actions are to fish out the "bad native doctors" who prioritize deceiving the youths and fuelling illegality.
