 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. Speaking on Gbam interview Engr Felix noted that tradition has come to stay and People should be able to differentiate between tradition and evil. He asserted that tradition is good because that's  the ways our forefathers followed and lived Long.

  

Engr Igwebuike maintained that the main problem people are having in Igbo land now is neglecting so much tradition, even as you are going to church do not disregard your tradition.


Speaking further, Engr Felix said that any site he is working on, he must kill a goat, and the reason is because it's in the tradition to do so, by so doing your "ancestors will guide whatever you are doing in that site and even provide more so that the work will be moving."


Engr Felix also defended the governor of Anambra state saying that he knows what he is doing, that the governor's actions are to fish out the "bad native doctors" who prioritize deceiving the youths and fuelling illegality.
