 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly.  Kogi State Government Mourns Victims Of Ibaji Boat Mishap                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             The Government and people of Kogi State received with deep sadness the news of a boat mishap which occurred on the River Niger, involving traders traveling from Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State to Ilushi market in Edo State.


A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communication Kingsley Femi Fanwo says, the unfortunate incident is alleged to have claimed the lives of not less than 26 passengers. 


Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families and has directed relevant agencies, including the State Emergency Management Agency, to work with local authorities to provide immediate support and relief to those affected.


The Governor further assured that the State Government will intensify ongoing efforts in collaboration with federal agencies to improve safety measures on waterways in order to prevent a recurrence of such tragedy.


He called on people in riverine communities to always prioritize safety by avoiding overloading and by using life jackets and other precautionary measures whenever they travel by water.
