 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Kogi State Government Mourns Victims Of Ibaji Boat Mishap                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             The Government and people of Kogi State received with deep sadness the news of a boat mishap which occurred on the River Niger, involving traders traveling from Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State to Ilushi market in Edo State.


A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communication Kingsley Femi Fanwo says, the unfortunate incident is alleged to have claimed the lives of not less than 26 passengers. 


Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families and has directed relevant agencies, including the State Emergency Management Agency, to work with local authorities to provide immediate support and relief to those affected.


The Governor further assured that the State Government will intensify ongoing efforts in collaboration with federal agencies to improve safety measures on waterways in order to prevent a recurrence of such tragedy.


He called on people in riverine communities to always prioritize safety by avoiding overloading and by using life jackets and other precautionary measures whenever they travel by water.
