 Chawai Community Appeals To Gov. Uba Sani For Relief, Medical Support After Deadly Kauru Attack The people of Chawai Chiefdom in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State have appealed to Governor Uba Sani to provide urgent relief and medical assistance to victims of the deadly attack on Naridon village in Kamaru Ward. In an open letter addressed to the governor, the community commended his leadership, describing his administration as inclusive and fair. They said this had given residents confidence that every community in the state is valued. The community, however, expressed concern over what it described as the lack of government intervention following the attack on Naridon village, in which it said 30 people were killed. According to the letter, many survivors and families of the victims are still struggling with grief, trauma, displacement, and the challenges of caring for those injured in the attack.  Kogi State Government Mourns Victims Of Ibaji Boat Mishap                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             The Government and people of Kogi State received with deep sadness the news of a boat mishap which occurred on the River Niger, involving traders traveling from Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State to Ilushi market in Edo State.


A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communication Kingsley Femi Fanwo says, the unfortunate incident is alleged to have claimed the lives of not less than 26 passengers. 


Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families and has directed relevant agencies, including the State Emergency Management Agency, to work with local authorities to provide immediate support and relief to those affected.


The Governor further assured that the State Government will intensify ongoing efforts in collaboration with federal agencies to improve safety measures on waterways in order to prevent a recurrence of such tragedy.


He called on people in riverine communities to always prioritize safety by avoiding overloading and by using life jackets and other precautionary measures whenever they travel by water.
