 No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

 LAGOS STATE EXAMINATIONS BOARD ANNOUNCES YEAR 2025 TRADE TEST FOR ARTISANS, TECHNICIANS


The Lagos State Examinations Board, under the supervision of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has announced the conduct of the Year 2025 Trade Test for artisans and technicians across the State.


According to the statement issued by the Director/Registrar of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Orunsolu Adebayo, the exercise is designed to evaluate the competence, skill, and proficiency of artisans and technicians in various trades, to promote technical excellence and professional certification. 


He emphasised that the Trade Test remains a vital instrument in enhancing productivity, employment opportunities, and socio-economic development in Lagos State.


Mr. Orunsolu disclosed that candidates will be examined in different trades such as tailoring, electrical installation, carpentry and joinery, hairdressing, barbing, catering and shoe making, among others. The test will be conducted in Grades III, II, and I to accommodate participants at different levels of expertise.


He further noted that the proposed dates for the 2025 Trade Test are 18th October, 2025, for the Theory component and 21st October, 2025, for the Practical Test.


Designated Test centres include Government Technical College, Ikotun; Government Technical College, Epe; Skill Acquisition Centre, Egbeda, and the Lagos State Examinations Board.


Mr. Orunsolu encouraged all eligible artisans and technicians to prepare adequately and take advantage of this opportunity to gain formal recognition for their skills. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos State Government to continuously support vocational and technical education as a cornerstone of sustainable development and youth empowerment.
