 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  LaMelo Ball fined $35,000 for making obscene gesture at referee

The NBA has fined LaMelo Ball $35,000 for making an obscene gesture toward a referee during the Hornets’ matchup against the Miami Heat this week.

The incident occurred in the final minutes at Kaseya Center, when Ball, frustrated after being called for an offensive foul, raised his middle finger and received a technical foul. Earlier in the game, he also accidentally kicked the ball into opponent Davion Mitchell’s face.

Despite Ball leading Charlotte with 20 points, the Hornets fell 144-117 to Miami and currently hold a 2-2 record this season. Over six years with the team, the former Rookie of the Year has averaged 21.1 points per game, though the franchise has yet to return to the playoffs since 2015-16.
