🇳🇴 Daniel Daga Sentenced by Norwegian Court, Appeals Verdict Molde FK midfielder Daniel Daga has been sentenced to six months in prison by a Norwegian court after being found guilty of committing a sexual act without consent. The Nigerian midfielder joined Molde FK from Enyimba just a year ago as one of the promising young talents to move from the NPFL to Europe. However, Daga has appealed the ruling through his lawyer, meaning the decision is not yet legally final and the case will continue through the Norwegian judicial system. Molde FK have also confirmed that the midfielder will not be included in the club’s matchday squad until further notice while the legal process continues.

Meta cuts 600 employees from AI division

Meta is set to lay off approximately 600 employees within its artificial intelligence division as part of efforts to streamline operations and operate more efficiently. The reduction was outlined in a memo from Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang, who joined the company in June amid Meta’s $14.3 billion investment in Scale AI. The layoffs will affect staff across AI infrastructure units, the Fundamental Artificial Intelligence Research division, and other product-related roles.

The move comes as Meta continues heavy investments in AI to compete with rivals such as OpenAI and Google, committing billions to infrastructure and talent acquisition. Recently, the company announced a $27 billion partnership with Blue Owl Capital to fund its Hyperion data center in rural Louisiana, a project CEO Mark Zuckerberg described as covering a footprint comparable to a large portion of Manhattan.
