 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Nelly Furtado to step back from performing for the foreseeable future

Nelly Furtado has announced she is stepping away from live performances for the “foreseeable future.”

The singer, known for hits like “Maneater,” shared the news on Instagram Friday, reflecting on her 25-year career since the release of her debut album Whoa, Nelly! She said it’s time to focus on “other creative and personal endeavors,” though she emphasized that she will continue writing music, even if she isn’t performing it.

Furtado also acknowledged the next generation of artists, wishing them “many years of fruitful and passionate performance,” signaling a full step back from the stage. The announcement comes shortly after her return with 7, her first album in seven years, released in September 2024, which had reignited her connection to fans and younger audiences. For now, she says the focus is on passing the torch while exploring new paths beyond performing.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
