 Oyebamiji emerges APC candidate for Osun governorship election  The Immediate Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority NIWA,  Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji has been picked as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming 2026 Osun governorship election. Oyebamiji emerged in Osogbo after seven other aspirants unanimously agreed to step down for him. Bola Oyebamiji who was one time commissioner of finance in Osun State in his acceptance speech promised put Osun back on track of development. The Chairman of Osun APC primary Committee and Governor of Edo state, Monday Ophebolo who supervised the primary described the unity in the party in Osun as a signal for victory for the party in 2026. Governors of Ondo and Nassarawa, Deputy governor of Lagos attended the primary.

...As IGP Egbetokun Commiserates with Family, PSC


The Nigeria Police Force regrettably announces the passing of retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Parry Benjamin Osemwegie Osayande, CFR, OFR, NPM, mni, who died in Benin City on Sunday, 28th September, 2025, a day before his 89th birthday.


DIG Osayande was a distinguished officer who served the Force and the nation meritoriously in various capacities, including as Commissioner of Police in several states, Deputy Inspector-General of Police, and later as Chairman of the Police Service Commission between 2008 and 2013. He also chaired key presidential committees on police reform, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, accountability, and courage in service.


The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbtokun, Ph.D, NPM, on behalf of the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, commiserates with the family, the Police Service Commission, and associates of the late DIG Osayande, and pays tribute to his invaluable contributions to policing and internal security in Nigeria.


The Nigeria Police Force prays for the peaceful repose of his soul and strength for his family to bear this irreparable loss. Funeral and memorial arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
