 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  NYSC Kaduna Commends Governor Uba Sani At Commissioning Of Solar-Powered Borehole


The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kaduna State has commended Governor Uba Sani and the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Malam Nuhu Bamalli (CFR), for their continued support toward the welfare and security of corps members serving in the state.


The commendation was made during the commissioning and handover of a solar-powered borehole donated by the Kaduna State Government through the Kaduna State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA) at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Kaduna.


Speaking at the event, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Efeke Murna Dadaza, expressed gratitude to the governor for his swift response to the Corps’ request and for fostering a safe and conducive environment for corps members. She assured that the NYSC would take full responsibility for the maintenance and proper use of the new facility.


In his remarks, the Director General of RUWASSA, Engr. Mubarak Shehu Ladan, emphasized the agency’s mandate to expand access to clean and safe water across small towns and rural areas. He stated that the project reflects the state government’s commitment to improving access to potable water, and commended Governor Uba Sani’s sustained support for RUWASSA since assuming office in May 2023.


The NYSC Kaduna community also expressed appreciation to the state government for prioritizing the welfare of corps members and pledged continued collaboration in advancing initiatives that enhance their living and working conditions.
