 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable.  OBA AKIOLU URGES NIGERIANS TO CHANNEL BIRTHDAY CONGRATULATORY FUNDS TO CHARITABLE INITIATIVES


In recognition of the forthcoming birthday celebration of His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, on October 29, 2025, the Oba of Lagos wishes to inform the general public, corporate bodies, and well-meaning individuals that those intending to place congratulatory messages in newspapers, on television, or on radio are kindly encouraged to channel such funds toward charitable initiatives instead.


His Royal Majesty humbly requests that such goodwill gestures be directed toward:


The purchase of essential drugs and medical supplies for health facilities, including Zenith Iga Idunganran Health Center, Police Hospital Falomo, Massey Street Children’s Hospital, Lagos Island, and other Primary Health Centers across Lagos Island.


The procurement and installation of solar street lights for mosques and churches across Lagos Island, with priority given to the Oba’s Mosque at Okiti Lane and the Methodist Church on Iga Idunganran Street, Isale-Eko.


Furthermore, His Royal Majesty intends to open a dedicated account to support these charitable purposes, and details will be conveyed in due course.


The Oba of Lagos deeply appreciates the continued love and support of the people, and he extends his regards.
