 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. Risky Business and The Breakfast Club actor Ron Dean dies at 87

Ron Dean, the veteran actor known for his roles in Risky Business and The Breakfast Club, has died at the age of 87. Dean passed away Sunday at a hospital in Chicago after a long illness, according to his partner of 40 years, Maggie Neff.

Dean often portrayed law enforcement figures on screen, beginning with one of his earliest roles in Risky Business alongside Tom Cruise. He also appeared with William Shatner in T.J. Hooker and starred in The Package with Gene Hackman and Tommy Lee Jones. Among his most recognized roles, Dean played Emilio Estevez’s father in The Breakfast Club and appeared in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.

His extensive television career included appearances on NYPD Blue, Murder, She Wrote, ER, Chicago Hope, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Cold Case, Frasier, Without a Trace, The West Wing, Still Standing, and Numb3rs. Dean’s work left a lasting mark on both film and television, and he is remembered for his commanding presence and versatility as a character actor.
