Trump issues pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer after insider trading conviction    President Donald Trump has issued a full pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer, who served nearly two years in prison after being convicted of insider trading tied to post-congressional consulting work. Buyer was sentenced in 2023 to 22 months in prison for illegal stock trades made while working as a consultant and lobbyist. He was ordered to forfeit more than $350,000 in ill-gotten gains and pay a $10,000 fine. He was released from custody in 2025 after his conviction was upheld, with the Supreme Court declining to take up his appeal earlier this year.  Two Arrested for Drug Dealing at Nkowa-Nkowa CBD


Police have arrested two male suspects for possession and dealing in drugs during an intelligence-driven operation conducted at the Nkowa-Nkowa Central Business District (CBD).


A 20-year-old suspect was first spotted at a local taxi rank and searched. He was found in possession of 25 sachets of Crystal Meth and 16 sachets of Nyaope, with an estimated street value of R2,000.


During further investigation, police arrested a 25-year-old man who was also found dealing in drugs. He was searched and found in possession of four sachets of Crystal Meth, leading to his immediate arrest.


Police later proceeded to the 25-year-old suspect’s residence at Nkomaneng Village, where they discovered his room was being used as a drug storage site. Substances including dagga, Nyaope, Crystal Meth, Rock drugs, 60 smoking pipes, and cash with an estimated street value of R4,000 were confiscated.


Both suspects are expected to appear before the Ritavi Magistrate’s Court soon to face charges of possession and dealing in drugs.


Police investigations are continuing.
