 ‘Empty barrels’ – Otti dismisses Uzor Kalu, Orji, Ikpeazu opposition gang-up Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has urged Abians to disregard recent remarks by some leaders of the opposition in the state. Governor Otti who was speaking on Saturday at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Umuoriehi, Umuahia North LGA, during the dedication of the church building, said that those who are gathering against him were the same people that failed to develop the state in the past.  Sabon Gari House Of Reps Member, Hon. Sadiq Ango Abdullahi Resigns From PDP, Cites Internal Crisis


The member representing Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, has formally announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing persistent internal conflicts and factionalisation within the party.


In a letter addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Hanwa Ward, Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Kaduna State, and dated October 13, 2025, Hon. Abdullahi stated that prolonged crises within the party had made it increasingly difficult for him to effectively represent his constituents.


“The persistent internal conflicts and factionalisation within the PDP, which have culminated in a prolonged party crisis, are adversely affecting my ability to effectively represent my constituency and perform my duties optimally,” he wrote.


The lawmaker explained that his decision followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders and political associates, emphasizing that it was a difficult but necessary step.


“This decision is driven by my commitment to continue serving the people of Sabon Gari Federal Constituency beyond partisan lines, ensuring that all constituents benefit from purposeful, inclusive, and effective representation,” Abdullahi stated.


He expressed gratitude to the PDP for the opportunity to serve under its platform, acknowledging the support and trust he received during his time with the party.


“The support, trust, and experiences I have gained during my time with the party have been invaluable, and I remain deeply grateful to the leadership and members at all levels,” he added.


Hon. Sadiq Ango Abdullahi currently serves as the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in the National Assembly.


As of the time of this report, the lawmaker has not publicly disclosed his next political move or affiliation following his exit from the PDP.
