 Trump administration halts border wall well drilling in New Mexico after ranchers raise water concerns  The Trump administration has ordered contractors building a border wall in New Mexico to stop drilling new wells after ranchers raised concerns that groundwater pumping for construction could worsen drought conditions and threaten their livestock. The move comes as crews work to expand border barriers across four states as part of President Donald Trump’s immigration agenda. The project has received billions in federal funding and has faced criticism from residents, environmental groups and local officials over various impacts. U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which oversees construction, has said water is needed for concrete production, road construction and controlling dust.  SECURITY IN ANAMBRA: POLICE STRENGTHENS FORCE WITH THE DEPLOYMENT OF OVER SEVENTY NEWLY PASSED-OUT CONSTABLES


The Anambra State Police Command today 8th 2025 received a fresh deployment of over seventy newly passed-out constables from the Police Training College, Oji River, Enugu State.


The new officers, who recently completed their training, form part of the ongoing efforts of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD NPM to strengthen the manpower capacity across the Federation and enhance community policing at the grassroots level.


The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc minps PhD has assured the good people of Anambra State that the officers would be deployed strategically across divisions and formations to enhance visibility policing, intelligence gathering, and prompt response to security situations.
