 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways.  SENATE SCREENS AND CONFIRMS DR DORO AS MINISTER


Senate has screened and confirmed Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.


Dr Doro from Plateau state was nominated last week by President Bola Tinubu.


The minister holds degrees in pharmacy and law and masters degree in business strategy and advanced clinical practice.


He is the third person appointed as minister from Plateau state under the current administration. 


First to be appointed was Simon Lalong who later won a court case and proceeded to the senate.


Also appointed was Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who also later vacated the ministerial seat, after being appointed the National Chairman of the ruling APC.
