 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Six Kaduna Stars Travel To Egypt For Football Trials After Impressing Scouts


Six emerging football talents from Kaduna have departed for Egypt this week to participate in professional trials, following impressive performances that caught the attention of scouts during a recent local development programme.


The young players, products of Kaduna’s dynamic grassroots football scene, were chosen for their standout skills, determination, and ability to adapt to higher levels of competition.


One of the players expressed excitement about the opportunity, saying, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance, and we are ready to give our best.”


Their journey has been made possible through the support of local football promoters and mentors who are dedicated to creating international exposure for promising Nigerian talents.


This initiative highlights a growing trend in Nigerian grassroots football—young players gaining access to global opportunities through organized trials and strategic partnerships with foreign clubs. 


A successful trial could mark the start of a professional career for any of these players, while also shining a spotlight on Kaduna’s robust football development system.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
