 PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS MS. ADEDAYO BENJAMIN LANIYI AS DG/CEO OF THE MARYAM BABANGIDA NATIONAL CENTRE FOR WOMEN DEVELOPMENT President Bola Tinubu, has approved the appointment of Ms. Adedayo Benjamin Laniyi as the Director-General /Chief Executive Officer of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development (MBNCWD) and  members of the Governing Council  for an initial term of four (4) years. In a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume the appointment which takes effect from April 18, 2026, is in accordance with the provisions of Section 7 (1) and (3) of the National Centre for Women Development (Amendment) Act, 2023.  Troops Rescue 180 Kidnapped Victims, Arrest 450 Terrorists; 39 Surrender 


The Defence Headquarters says troops across different theatres of operations have rescued 180 kidnapped victims, arrested 450 terrorists, bandits  and other criminal elements, while 39 others surrendered in various operations conducted in September 2025.


A statement by the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye notes that troops also recovered 63 arms, 4,475 rounds of ammunition  while troops of operation delta safe destroyed 41 illegal refining sites and foiled oil theft valued at over one hundred million naira.
