 Republic of Congo holds presidential election, internet disruption reported Internet connectivity across the Republic of Congo was disrupted on Sunday as voters cast ballots in a presidential election, global internet watchdog NetBlocks said. Network data indicated a nation-scale disruption to internet access, the watchdog said on X. A similar near-total nationwide internet blackout was recorded during the country’s March 2021 presidential election, lasting about three days, according to NetBlocks. Polls opened at 6 am (0500GMT) in the country’s presidential election and will remain open until 6 pm (1700GMT). More than 2.6 million registered voters aged 18 and above are eligible to cast their ballots.  Without Davido, Afrobeats is a bastard! – Cubana Chiefpriest


Celebrity barman and socialite, Okechukwu Pascal, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has stirred controversy online after mocking Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy while praising superstar Davido.

The nightlife mogul made the remarks following his appearance at Davido’s sold-out show at the Uyo Stadium in Akwa Ibom State.

In a celebratory post shared on Instagram, Cubana Chiefpriest expressed gratitude to Davido for allowing him to perform on stage and went on to hail the singer as the undisputed pioneer of Afrobeats.

“Chief Priest Don Do Stadium. Dem sabi my gbedu well well for Uyo. From today onwards, Akwa Ibom has my fat heart. @davido without you Afrobeats is a bastard. 001 for a reason, the Papa of Afrobeats,” he wrote.

However, drama escalated when a fan referenced Burna Boy in the comments, prompting a sharp response from Chiefpriest.

Reacting to the comment, he wrote: “The bingo go cry.”
