Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence.  WWE Raw: Jey Uso earns No. 1 contender spot following vacated world title

Jey Uso has secured the No. 1 contender spot for the World Heavyweight Championship after the title was vacated on WWE Raw.

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce opened Monday’s show by revealing that champion Seth Rollins had suffered an injury requiring surgery, sidelining him for an extended period. Rollins had been betrayed last week by his partners, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, along with manager Paul Heyman.

During the show, Breakker, Reed, and Heyman—collectively known as The Vision—met with Pearce while Breakker still held the championship. Reluctantly, Breakker handed the title to Pearce, who announced a Battle Royal later in the main event to determine a new No. 1 contender. Pearce barred Breakker and Reed from participating due to their attack on Rollins.

CM Punk, previously named a No. 1 contender last week, provided commentary for the Battle Royal, which featured Raw’s top stars. Wrestlers were eliminated if thrown over the top rope with both feet hitting the floor.

The final four came down to Jey Uso, his twin brother Jimmy Uso, LA Knight, and “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio. Jey Uso eliminated LA Knight and then surprised his brother by tossing Jimmy Uso over the top rope. Mysterio nearly eliminated Jey, but he held on to win the match.

Jey Uso will now face CM Punk at Saturday Night’s Main Event on Nov. 1 for the vacated World Heavyweight Championship.
