A California man took the life of his estranged wife and buried her in a remote area to dig her up the next morning.
The reason why will make you sick.
This harrowing tale took place on November 10th of 2022, when 28-year-old Zarab Ali took the life of Rachel Castillo. Rachel was Ali's estranged wife and mother to his two children.
The chilling details of his crime and his unspeakable actions following are truly the stuff of nightmares.
According to Zarab Ali's own confession, he had laid in wait outside of Rachel's apartment, waiting for a chance to sneak inside. Ali continued to lurk outside of the home until he found a chance to slip into the home unnoticed.
After gaining entry into the home, Ali hid and waited for his chance to ambush his unsuspecting victim. As Rachel Castillo was exiting her bathroom, Ali sprung his lethal trap.
Ali burst from his hiding spot armed with a knife. He then carried out a brutal attack on Rachel, puncturing her multiple times in the chest.
After taking her life, Zarab Ali loaded Rachel into his vehicle and drove to a remote area in Littlerock, California, where he buried her.
Ali then fled the scene but would be drawn back the next morning to carry out an unimaginable act.
While being interrogated by authorities after Rachel was discovered deceased on November 13th, Ali told police he had returned to Rachel's grave to satisfy his s****** urges.
Yes, you read that right. After taking the life of the mother of his children, Zarab Ali dug Rachel's remains out of shallow grave. He then "had his way with her" body before burying her again.
During his trial, prosecutors played Ali's taped interrogation and subsequent confession. During his interview with police Ali can be heard saying, "Just to confirm that I am a monster, I r**** her."
On Friday, November 21st, 2025, Zarab Ali was found guilty of taking the life of Rachel Castillo.
Their are two children were with their paternal grandparents during this attack.
Ali has been found guilty of all charges in this crime. Ali is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 12, 2026, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
Our thoughts are with Rachel and her family at this time and we hope that they do get Justice with his sentencing.
