A SOUTH CAROLINA MAN CRASHED HIS CAR NEAR A SCHOOL, EXITED HIS VEHICLE, AND USED HIS HEAD TO BREAK OUT A WINDOW, THEN SCUFFLED WITH A TEACHER BEFORE GRABBING A CHILD AND ATTEMPTING TO FLEE ON HALLOWEEN. (PHOTOS).

A South Carolina man crashed his car near a school, exited his vehicle, and used his head to break out a window, then scuffled with a teacher before grabbing a child and attempting to flee on Halloween.

This dramatic incident took place at the Chester Park School Complex in Chester, South Carolina.

According to reports on Friday, afternoon 20-year-old D'arrius Edwards crashed his vehicle into a stand of trees near the school complex.

D'arrius then exited his vehicle and calmly made his way onto the playground, and approached the building.

He then walked up to the widow of a classroom full of children. After briefly gazing into the window, D'arrius used his head to bust out the window and entered the building.

Three teachers were in the room at the time, and one faculty member immediately began to engage in a physical struggle with D'arrius.

Shockingly, D'arrius was able to break free from the scuffle and grab a child. He then jumped back out of the broken window with the child in tow.

Fortunately, by the time he exited back to the playground, law enforcement was already on scene. An officer immediately engaged with D'arrius attempting to recover the child.

D'arrius was ultimately tased, and the officer was able to recover the child and take D'arrius into custody.

The child sustained minor injuries during the incident but was very shaken up.

According to Chester County Sheriff, Max Dorsey, D'arrius did not have any connection to the child. He said they do not have a motive for D'arrius's actions at this time and declined to comment on whether mental health issues played a factor in the incident.

D'arrius Edwards was charged with kidnapping, burglary and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
