 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room.  Abia Government to Immortalise Prof. Nnennaya Oti for Her Integrity


Abia state Governor, Dr Alex Otti, OFR, has announced that his administration will immortalise the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Professor Nnennnaya Oti, for upholding truth and integrity and refusing to compromise standards during the 2023 general elections.


Governor Otti who was speaking at the Enyimba International Stadium Aba, during a grand civic reception held in his honour by the Old Bende people under the umbrella of the Old Bende Progressive Union, comprising the 8 LGAS of Old Bende including the people of Edda in Ebonyi State wherein Prof. Nnennaya Oti was honored by the Union.


The Governor who described Prof. Nnennaya Oti as a woman of integrity and credibility, noted that her uncommon courage during the 2023 Governorship election earned her the respect of all Nigerians and  congratulated her on the honor done her by the Old Bende people.
