  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous.  ACTDA Enforces Strict Ban on Highway Crossing in Awka, Introduces ₦20,000 Fine


In a fresh move to improve safety and orderliness within the Anambra State capital, the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) has announced a strict prohibition on pedestrians crossing major highways within the city. 


The agency is urging residents and visitors to use the designated pedestrian bridges to avoid accidents and traffic obstruction.


The announcement highlights a growing concern over the dangerous practice of dashing across busy roads—an act that has led to several avoidable injuries and fatalities in urban areas. 


With the newly constructed and strategically positioned pedestrian bridges available, ACTDA says there is no further justification for unsafe road crossing habits.
