 ‘Empty barrels’ – Otti dismisses Uzor Kalu, Orji, Ikpeazu opposition gang-up Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has urged Abians to disregard recent remarks by some leaders of the opposition in the state. Governor Otti who was speaking on Saturday at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Umuoriehi, Umuahia North LGA, during the dedication of the church building, said that those who are gathering against him were the same people that failed to develop the state in the past. Otti was reacting to an alliance formed against his re-election by former Abia governors Orji Uzor Kalu, Theodore Orji and Okezie Ikpeazu. The governor slammed the opposition members for pursuing personal interest above the collective development of Abia, declaring that every gathering they are making against him would collapse.  ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: IHIALA, OGBARU, AYAMELUM LGA’s AND OTHER AREAS REMAIN CALM AS POLICE MAINTAIN STRONG SECURITY PRESENCE


The Anambra State Police Command today 8th November 2025 reports that the Governorship Election is ongoing peacefully in Ihiala, Ogbaru, Ayamelum Local Government areas and other parts of the State, with a strong and coordinated security presence has continued to dominate all strategic locations to ensure a secure and orderly voting atmosphere.


Police operatives and personnel of sister security agencies are on ground across polling centers, collation zones, waterways, and border communities to deter any form of disruption and to provide confidence for voters to exercise their civic responsibility without fear or intimidation.


The Command maintains strict neutrality and assures all political actors and citizens that it remains committed to protecting the integrity of the electoral process, safeguarding lives and property, and enforcing the law throughout the election period.


The public is encouraged to continue to conduct themselves peacefully and comply with lawful instructions from security officers on duty.
