Bandits Kill Two Farmers In Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State

Two farmers were shot dead by bandits in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

According to Sahara Reporters, the attack occurred on Sunday morning near Mamman Yarwa village in Tabani Ward. A source confirmed that the victims were ambushed on their way to the farm and killed instantly.

Concerned community members, noticing their prolonged absence and hearing gunshots, organized a search party. Unaware of a second ambush laid by the bandits, the search team was fired upon and forced to retreat.

Security forces later arrived, engaged the bandits in a gunfight, secured the area, and recovered the bodies.

This incident is part of a growing wave of violence in Kaduna State. Earlier attacks in Pala-Sayasaya Road, Ikara LGA, left one person dead, several others injured, and multiple traders and farmers kidnapped. Over ten motorcycles were also reportedly seized in separate ambushes.

Only days prior, six farmers were abducted while working on their farms in Layin Danauta village, Kuyello Ward, Birnin Gwari LGA. Other attacks involved traders traveling to local markets, who were intercepted, kidnapped, and taken into nearby forests.

Residents continue to express fear as bandits operate with seeming impunity, targeting farmers, traders, and travelers. Security forces remain on high alert as investigations continue.
