 El-Rufai’s Eye Condition Worsening In ICPC Custody, Aide Alleges The media aide to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Muyiwa Adekeye, has expressed concern over what he described as the worsening eye condition of his principal while in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). Adekeye also accused the anti-corruption agency of failing to provide El-Rufai with adequate medical care despite repeated complaints about his health. In a statement issued on Friday, Adekeye said the former governor had reported symptoms including swollen, red, and itchy eyes while in detention and had requested medical attention. According to him, family members who visited El-Rufai noticed the condition and alerted ICPC officials, urging them to allow him access to medical treatment. BONNY MAKECELA FROM MBAULA VILLAGE WAS SENTENCED TO LIFE BY GIYANI REGIONAL COURT YESTERDAY, 7 NOVEMBER 2025, FOR RAPING HIS 14-YEAR-OLD NEIGHBOUR . (PHOTO).


  Bonny Makecela from Mbaula village was sentenced to life by Giyani Regional Court yesterday, 7 November 2025, for raping his 14-year-old neighbour 


The court heard chilling details of the incident, which occurred on Saturday, 01 October 2022, at around 20:30 in Mbaula Village outside Giyani. The young victim was walking home after enjoying a local soccer tournament when she encountered him along with his friend.


The accused, grabbed the girl's hands. When she fought back, he slapped her repeatedly with open hands and dragged her forcefully to his friend's nearby residence. There, he broke in, threw her onto a bed, and raped her. Afterward, he issued chilling threats, warning her not to tell anyone and making further menacing remarks about harming her friends.


Terrified but resilient, the victim escaped and fled to a friend's family home that same night, where she immediately reported the assault. The friend's family escorted her home, and she was rushed to a local clinic for urgent medical care. The matter was promptly reported to the police and he was sentenced yesterday.
