 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS REFUTES VIDEO ON COMPULSORY RECRUITMENT


The defence headquarters has refuted a circulationg video depicting a mischievously cloned image of the Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede 

on alleged intent of the military to forcefully recruit young Nigerians from the age of 18 years into the military against their will.


 A statement by the director defence information brigadier General Samaila Uba said, the military remained a noble profession with thousands of patriotic Nigerians ready to willingly join its ranks as attested during various recruitment exercises into the 3 arms of the Nigerian military.


Brigadier General Uba noted that, the purported statement was never made by the Chief of Defence Staff or any of  the Service Chiefs and should be discarded by members of the public as a calculated attempt to undermine the high level professionalism of the Nigerian Military
