Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London.  Ex-Grizzlies star Tony Allen faces drug-related arrest in Arkansas

Former Memphis Grizzlies star Tony Allen has been arrested in Arkansas on drug-related charges, according to local authorities.

The Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Allen faces two charges of drug possession—one felony and one misdemeanor—and is being held without bond. The arrest occurred after a traffic stop about 50 miles from Memphis, when the vehicle Allen was riding in was pulled over for an improper lane change. Officials say Allen was found with a bag of marijuana, and deputies reportedly discovered cocaine in a cigarette box during a search of the car.

Allen, 43, spent the bulk of his NBA career with the Memphis Grizzlies from 2011 to 2017 and also played for the Boston Celtics and New Orleans Pelicans. He is widely regarded as one of the league’s top defensive players, and the Grizzlies retired his jersey in March.

This is not Allen’s first legal issue. In 2023, he pled guilty in a federal case involving an NBA health insurance and fraud scheme and was sentenced to community service and three years of supervised probation.
