 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  Federal Ministry Of Education Partners University Of Doha Science and Technology On Technical and Vocational Education And Training,TVET


The minister of education, Dr. Tunji Alausa has announced that Nigeria would collaborate with University of Doha Science And Technology in three key areas

to expand and modernize Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across the country. 

The Minister who stated this during an official visit to the University of Doha for Science and Technology was received by the President of UDST, Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, alongside senior university leadership.

Dr. Alausa toured the University’s renowned Certificate School, a specialized institution heavily focused on competency-based TVET education and internationally accredited technical programs. He commended UDST’s strong emphasis on practical training, workplace readiness, and industry-aligned certifications—elements critical to Nigeria’s ongoing skills development reforms.

Dr. Alausa said that Nigeria and UDST would be partnering in the following three key areas:


 Faculty Exchange & Train-the-Trainer Programs

Both institutions will collaborate on faculty exchange initiatives to strengthen Nigeria’s technical teaching workforce. Nigerian instructors and master trainers will receive advanced training in:

• Plumbing

• Welding

• HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)

• Electrical Installation

• Solar Photovoltaic Technology

This partnership will help Nigeria rapidly upgrade its technical teaching capacity to meet global standards.


 Quality Assurance & International Certification Standards

UDST will also support Nigeria in developing a strengthened quality assurance framework that ensures technical certificates, diplomas, and degrees issued by Nigerian technical colleges and skills centres meet international standards.

This effort aims to make Nigerian TVET qualifications globally acceptable, particularly across North America and Europe.


Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Incubation Support

Nigeria will collaborate with UDST’s entrepreneurship and innovation centers to unlock the entrepreneurial potential of Nigerian youth. Through incubation and skills development programs, the partnership will empower young Nigerians to grow into:

• Micro entrepreneurs

• Small and large-scale business owners

• High-growth innovators and potential unicorn-level enterprises.


Dr. Alausa emphasized that this partnership underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to producing a skilled, globally competitive, and industry-ready workforce capable of driving Nigeria’s economic transformation.

The Minister reaffirmed that Nigeria remains fully committed to modernizing its TVET ecosystem, expanding opportunities for young people, and aligning skills development with international benchmarks.
