 LAGOS RE-INTRODUCES MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION EXERCISE …Governor, Deputy lead State officials to clean up Mushin corridor Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday, announced the re-introduction of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation in the State. The Governor said the exercise will hold every last Saturday of the Month between the hours of 6:30am and 8:30am but without movement restrictions. He stressed that the exercise would be monitored by State officials with appropriate sanctions to be meted out to erring neighbourhoods and markets. Sanwo-Olu made the pronouncement during a ceremony held in Olosa Bus Stop in Mushin which marked the symbolic flag-off of the monthly sanitation. The Governor, who led his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and member of the State cabinet on the mission, said the culture of environmental responsibility must be imbibed by the residents across all communities in the state and reflect same in their lifestyle.  FIFA to introduce new peace prize at World Cup draw in Washington 

FIFA has announced the creation of a new peace prize, set to be awarded at the World Cup draw on Dec. 5 in Washington.

The FIFA Peace Prize will honor “exceptional actions for peace,” the governing body said Wednesday. “In an increasingly unsettled and divided world, it’s fundamental to recognize the outstanding contribution of those who work hard to end conflicts and bring people together in a spirit of peace,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said. The award will be presented annually by Infantino “on behalf of fans from all around the world.”

The announcement comes amid recent connections between FIFA and former President Donald Trump, who was not selected for the Nobel Peace Prize last month despite lobbying efforts. Infantino and Trump were both scheduled to speak at an unrelated event in Miami on Wednesday. Additionally, FIFA recently appointed Trump’s daughter Ivanka to the board of a $100 million education initiative, partially funded by 2026 World Cup ticket sales.
