 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision.  Fourth death reported at Walt Disney World in one month

Another death has been reported at Walt Disney World, marking the fourth fatality on the property in the past month.

According to Florida’s Orange County Sheriff’s Office, a woman in her 40s was taken to Celebration Hospital on Sunday, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities say there are no signs of foul play.

This follows three previous deaths at Walt Disney World in recent weeks. On October 14, a 31-year-old woman died by suicide at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. About a week later, a man in his 60s suffered a medical episode and died at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Most recently, a 28-year-old man, Matthew Cohn, died by suicide at the Contemporary Resort.

Separate from Florida, Disneyland in California also reported a death earlier this month when a woman in her 60s was found unresponsive on the Haunted Mansion ride on October 8 and later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Disney has not issued a public comment regarding the latest incident.
