 PRESS RELEASE FCT POLICE RESCUE SUSPECT FROM JUNGLE JUSTICE OVER ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION OF 5 YEAR OLD CHILD. …CP FCT Condemns such acts as it delays the course of justice The FCT Police Command, on the 4th of October 2026 at approximately 02:46PM, received a distress call reporting that an unidentified adult male was being assaulted by an angry mob over an alleged attempt to abduct a child. Following receipt of the report, police operatives from Kuje Division were immediately dispatched to the scene, where one Bashir Usman was rescued from an irate mob that was about to lynch him. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was being assaulted by the mob over allegations that he attempted to abduct a five year old child in front of her residence in Angwan Lado, Kuje Area Council of the FCT.  George Banks, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, man who killed his family in 1982, dies in prison

COLLEGEVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA - George E. Banks, a former prison guard from Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, who killed 13 members of his family in a 1982 shooting spree, has died at a state prison in Montgomery County. He was 83.

The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections confirmed that Banks died of natural causes at the Correctional Institution — Phoenix, near Philadelphia. On September 25, 1982, Banks fatally shot five of his children and other relatives at homes in Wilkes-Barre and Jenkins Township, shocking the local community and marking the day as one of tragedy and horror.

Banks was convicted by a jury and originally sentenced to death, but the sentence was later overturned after he was declared mentally incompetent, with his lawyer asserting that he was insane at the time of the killings.
