 ASUU–ABSU SUSPENDS THREE-WEEK-OLD INDEFINITE STRIKE The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abia State University Branch, wishes to inform the University community, all stakeholders and the general public that, following the resolution of Congress held today, Friday, 28th August, 2026, the Branch has suspended its three-week-old comprehensive industrial action with immediate effect. The decision of Congress followed a careful assessment of developments since the commencement of the strike and, particularly, the concrete steps taken towards addressing some of the major issues that necessitated the industrial action. Foremost among these is the full implementation of the 2025 FGN–ASUU salary structure, including the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA), which has now been reflected in the August 2026 salaries of academic staff of Abia State University.  Governor Alex Otti hails Soludo’s re-election as sign of public confidence

 

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has described the re-election of Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra as a testament to the confidence the people of the state repose in him.


Otti stated this in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Ferdinand Ekeoma, today in Umuahia.


He said that Soludo’s landslide victory in the just-concluded governorship election reflected the trust and satisfaction of the electorate with his performance in his first term.


The governor urged his Anambra counterpart to view his re-election as another opportunity to consolidate on the progress already recorded in the state.


Otti also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a hitch-free poll and for the prompt announcement of results.

He noted that allowing the people to freely choose their leaders through the ballot remained the best way to strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.


Otti also urged Soludo to extend an olive branch to his opponents to foster unity and build a stronger, development-oriented partnership for the progress of Anambra.


Otti prayed for greater success for Soludo in his second term in office.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
