 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  Governor Inuwa Yahaya Showcases Investment Opportunities at High-Level Nigeria-South Africa Dialogue


Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa was a featured speaker at a high-level Nigeria-South Africa Investment Dialogue, where he showcased the strategic advantages and readiness of Gombe for business.


The event, held on the sidelines of the G20 Summit, was organized by the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), MTN South Africa, and the Nigerian High Commission in South Africa. 


The dialogue was also attended by the Governors of Nasarawa, Kaduna and Plateau States, as well as the Honorable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy. 


The event featured presentations on Nigeria's investment climate and opportunities.


In his presentation, Governor Inuwa Yahaya detailed Gombe State's compelling value proposition for investors. 


He stressed the state's comparative advantages in agriculture and outlined his administration's transformative reforms that have positioned Gombe as Nigeria's premier destination for business. 


The Governor pointed out the strategic reforms in land administration, business registration, revenue generation, creation of the state investment promotion agency and e-government. 


These coordinated reforms, propelled Gombe State to the Number 1 spot in the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) ease of doing business rankings.


"Through our massive investment in road infrastructure under the 'Network 11-100' initiative, we have opened up local communities, enhance connectivity, and reduce travel time between our communitie.


This, combined with significant investments in energy, including both mini-grids and large-scale power projects, as well as our human capital development drive through investment in education and healthcare, provides the critical foundation for sustainable industrial growth."


Governor Inuwa Yahaya also showcased two landmark projects as proof of  Gombe State's investment-ready status, including the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, with the first phase now operational, the hub is designed to host a diverse range of manufacturing and processing industries.


He also talked about 182-Hectare Special Agro-Livestock Development Zone, a massive ongoing project that, upon completion, will feature a modern abattoir, international markets for grains, livestock, and timber, and an in-land dry port situated along the railway corridor for seamless export.


The Governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold reforms, particularly the new Electricity Act and economic policies that are now delivering growth, forex stability and increasing revenues.


Governor Inuwa Yahaya issued a direct appeal to the global investment community, urging them to jump at the unparalleled opportunities in Gombe State and Nigeria at large. 


The incentives are ripe, he said, especially in the high-yield sectors of agriculture, solid minerals and energy. 


"Gombe is open for business, and we are ready to partner with you for mutual growth and prosperity", he assured.
