 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  SANWO-OLU ARRIVES IPERU, OGUN STATE FOR SOUTHERN GOVERNORS FORUM MEETING


The Governor of Lagos State and Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has arrived in Iperu, Ogun State for the Southern Governors Forum meeting hosted by its Chairman and the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.


 


Governor Sanwo-Olu is among the 13 governors who have arrived for the Southern Governors’ Forum meeting holding at the private residence of Governor Abiodun in Iperu.


 


Other Governors who have arrived for the meeting are Vice Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Anambra, Chukwuma Soludo, Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Alex Otti (Abia), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), and Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers).


 


Governors Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Ademola Adeleke (Osun) were represented by their deputies.


 


Governors from all 17 Southern States are expected at the meeting. The meeting will focus on security issues, State and community policing and collaboration among states.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
