 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable.  SANWO-OLU ARRIVES IPERU, OGUN STATE FOR SOUTHERN GOVERNORS FORUM MEETING


The Governor of Lagos State and Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has arrived in Iperu, Ogun State for the Southern Governors Forum meeting hosted by its Chairman and the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.


 


Governor Sanwo-Olu is among the 13 governors who have arrived for the Southern Governors’ Forum meeting holding at the private residence of Governor Abiodun in Iperu.


 


Other Governors who have arrived for the meeting are Vice Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Anambra, Chukwuma Soludo, Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Alex Otti (Abia), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), and Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers).


 


Governors Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Ademola Adeleke (Osun) were represented by their deputies.


 


Governors from all 17 Southern States are expected at the meeting. The meeting will focus on security issues, State and community policing and collaboration among states.
